These policies help every trainee understand the commitments that support a professional, respectful, and academically rigorous learning environment.
Policy 01
Attendance Policy
Applicable to SAFE Academy Yoga Teacher Training programs.
Attendance requirement
Trainees may miss a maximum of 10% of the total scheduled training hours without being required to complete additional make-up hours. Any assignments, practical work, or other requirements associated with a missed session remain the trainee's responsibility and must be completed as instructed by the Lead Trainer.
Acceptable absences
SAFE Academy may accept absences resulting from illness, family emergencies, unavoidable work commitments, travel emergencies, or other exceptional or unforeseen circumstances. All acceptable absences remain subject to the 10% maximum allowance and do not exempt the trainee from completing missed requirements.
Planned absences
A trainee who knows in advance that they will miss a session should notify SAFE Academy or the Lead Trainer at least 24 hours beforehand. This requirement does not apply to emergencies or circumstances that could not reasonably have been anticipated.
Absence exceeding 10%
A trainee who misses more than 10% of the program must complete the missed hours through an arrangement approved by the Lead Trainer. Depending on the learning objectives involved, this may include:
- Attending equivalent hours with another SAFE Academy course, without an additional fee.
- Completing private make-up sessions with a qualified trainer; an additional fee may apply.
- Completing assigned recorded or online learning material where appropriate.
- Using a combination of approved make-up methods.
Recorded or online material is not automatically considered equivalent to in-person training. The Lead Trainer determines the appropriate method for the specific content missed.
Tardiness and excessive absence
Trainees must arrive ready to participate before the scheduled start time. Repeated or significant lateness may be recorded as absence. When a trainee has missed a substantial portion of the program, SAFE Academy may require completion to be deferred to a future course rather than permitting an excessive number of make-up hours. Additional fees may apply according to the arrangements required.
Completion and certification
Completion of all required training hours, assignments, practical requirements, and learning activities is necessary before SAFE Academy issues a certificate of completion or recognizes the training as completed for Yoga Alliance registration purposes. SAFE Academy reserves the right to evaluate individual circumstances while maintaining the educational standards of the program.
Policy 02
Code of Conduct
Standards for all SAFE Academy programs and Academy-related interactions.
Professionalism, respect, and inclusion
Every member of the SAFE Academy community must treat others with courtesy and professionalism; communicate constructively; respect differences, boundaries, backgrounds, abilities, and perspectives; contribute positively to the learning environment; and follow reasonable guidance from trainers and Academy staff.
Discrimination, harassment, intimidation, bullying, or other inappropriate conduct is not accepted.
Professional boundaries
Physical contact during practice, demonstration, teaching, or adjustment must have a legitimate educational purpose, suit the context, and respect consent, comfort, and personal boundaries. Sexual, suggestive, intimidating, or otherwise inappropriate behavior is prohibited.
Safe and responsible practice
Trainees must practice and teach within their training and demonstrated competence, follow safety instructions, communicate relevant limitations when appropriate, respect the physical and emotional boundaries of others, and never intentionally place another participant at unnecessary risk.
Academic and professional integrity
Assignments and assessments must be completed honestly. Sources and the work of others must be acknowledged. Cheating, plagiarism, falsification of attendance or records, and presenting another person's work as one's own may result in disciplinary action.
Attendance and participation
Trainees are expected to attend punctually and participate actively. Attendance is governed by the SAFE Academy Attendance Policy. Repeated lateness, disruption, or failure to participate appropriately may affect successful completion.
Confidentiality, privacy, and digital communication
Personal information, discussions, and experiences shared within the learning environment must be treated respectfully and confidentially. Photographs, recordings, or content identifying another person must not be created or shared without appropriate consent.
SAFE Academy manuals, presentations, recordings, and educational resources may not be reproduced, distributed, or used commercially without authorization.
Substance use and disruptive behavior
No trainee may participate while impaired by alcohol, recreational drugs, or another substance that compromises judgment, coordination, safety, or conduct. SAFE Academy may intervene when behavior disrupts learning, compromises safety, or harms other participants.
Reporting concerns and non-retaliation
Concerns about unsafe, discriminatory, inappropriate, or unacceptable conduct should be raised with the Lead Trainer or SAFE Academy administration. Concerns will be handled as fairly and confidentially as reasonably possible. Retaliation against anyone who raises a concern in good faith is prohibited.
Disciplinary action
Depending on the nature, seriousness, and frequency of a violation, SAFE Academy may issue a warning, require changed behavior or remedial work, remove a trainee from an activity, impose conditions on participation, suspend participation, or terminate enrollment. Serious violations include harassment, discrimination, threatening behavior, serious boundary breaches, significant safety risks, academic dishonesty, falsification of records, and repeated misconduct.
Shared responsibility
By enrolling, trainees accept responsibility for upholding these standards. SAFE Academy commits to applying them fairly and supporting the safety, learning, development, and professional growth of its community.
Policy 03
Tuition & Refund Policy
Public policy summary. Complete financial terms are supplied before enrollment.
Current tuition, payment arrangements, installment options, and any available discounts are provided directly upon inquiry.
Request tuition details on WhatsAppPayment terms
A trainee's place is secured through the payment arrangement stated by SAFE Academy at registration. Fees may be paid in US dollars or the equivalent in Egyptian pounds at the applicable bank exchange rate on the registration date. All agreed installment deadlines remain the trainee's responsibility.
Cancellation before training begins
A trainee wishing to cancel must notify SAFE Academy in writing. When cancellation is received more than two weeks before the program begins, all tuition paid is refundable. When cancellation occurs within the two weeks immediately before the start date, the amount paid is refundable less a 15% administrative fee.
Withdrawal after training begins
Once a training program has officially commenced, tuition payments are non-refundable, regardless of attendance or partial completion. A trainee who cannot continue may request deferral to a future equivalent SAFE Academy program under the terms below.
Deferral
- At least two weeks before the program: deferral may be requested without an administrative fee.
- Within the two weeks immediately before the program: a 15% administrative fee applies to the amount paid.
- After the program begins: deferral may be requested to an equivalent program beginning within one year, with a 15% administrative fee payable when the new program begins.
Deferral is subject to available places. If the future program's tuition is higher, the trainee is responsible for the difference.
Non-payment
SAFE Academy will issue a warning when a scheduled payment is overdue. After two warnings, the trainee may not continue attending until the outstanding tuition has been paid. Suspension for non-payment does not remove the trainee's financial obligation.
Cancellation or postponement by SAFE Academy
If SAFE Academy cancels or postpones a program before it begins, enrolled trainees may receive a full refund of tuition paid or defer to the next available equivalent program. No administrative fee will be deducted.
Before enrollment
Every applicant receives the complete course-specific tuition and refund policy, including current fees, dates, and payment arrangements, before or upon enrollment. Registration confirms that the trainee has received, read, understood, and accepted those terms.
